Missing women cases frustrate local police

The disappearance of two Sumner County women, within a three-month period, has investigators baffled.


And the families of both women, while holding out hope, fear the worst.


Salena Tackett, 25, of Hendersonville, was the first to vanish. Tyrone Tackett, her husband of one month, reported her missing on Jan. 31.


He told police he hadn’t seen her since the night before at their Secretariat Place residence in the Bluegrass Downs area.


A little more than a month later, Brandee Rancati Thomerson, 42, of Westmoreland vanished on March 6.


Both women were white and with blondish hair.

Search for Missing Hendersonville Woman

Police are asking for help locating a missing Middle Tennessee woman. Her family hasn't heard from her in weeks. Wednesday, Hendersonville police, armed with a search warrant, returned to the place she was last seen: her own home.

TBI agents and Hendersonville police spent the day scouring the upscale home, searching for any little clue that could solve a mystery - the disappearance of Salena Tackett.

"Early reports indicate she may have left on her own accord. We have simply been unable to verify that and confirm it at this time. So obviously with each passing day, we're growing very concerned for her well-being and have not been able to confirm the reason for her disappearance," Lt. Paul Harbsmeier said.

Letters offer clue in woman's disappearance

Hendersonville Police investigators describe the disappearce of Salena Tackett as frustrating. There are no solid leads, but there is a new intriguing twist.

Hendersonville Police Lt. Paul Harbsmeier said, "We are operating under the pretense that foul play is involved in this investigation."

The 25-year-old had just been married a week and was living with her husband Tyrone when he reported her missing. Tyrone said that he was with her when he fell asleep with their small child on the night of January 30th, 2003. When he woke up later that evening she was gone. Tyrone also said that a large sum of money was missing from the home.

Details of Disappearance

Salena was reported missing by her husband, Tyrone Tackett, on January 30, 2003. They lived in the 100 block of Secretariat Place in Hendersonville, Tennessee at the time. They had been married only a week prior to her disappearance.
